“It is health that is the real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” — Mahatma Gandhi

With a billion dollars you can buy almost anything, ok maybe everything you want. BUT.

You only have one life and one body.

There’s no renting or lending of a body. You only have that one you’re in now. So hang on to it!

“Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them.” Dion Boucicault

Unfortunately we sometimes only know our body is biodegradable if we go through some things. You may be one of the lucky ones and instinctively know you have to take care of your body.

Other people have to go through some stuff to know that “this thing is perishing” Being born with a heart condition I have always known that this thing called life is only for a moment only a present for the present.

“Life is a first impression. You get one shot at it. Make it everlasting.”
― J.R. Rim

Lying in an intensive care unit with an irritating beep beep of a heart monitor in my ears engraved something in me. I only have one life on earth and have to take care of my hosting agent……my body.

You spend a lot of effort on making a living. The average person will sell his time(life) to make a living. It’s ironic and unthinkable but we sell something that we only have one of for something that can be printed millions of times. That’s the system.

“You can’t enjoy wealth if you’re not in good health.” Anonymous

The only way you can really enjoy that hard-earned cash is if you treasure your body. How young, old or scarred it is. Every time your body goes back a step you regret the things you could do when you had that younger body.

“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” Jim Rohn

Who of you gorgeous girls look back and see how beautiful and skinny you were when you were younger. And many did not feel good enough when you were younger, but if you look back now you know, I was beautiful enough then.

So treasure what you have now and invest in your health and body. You will never regret it. How many times have you come back from a gym session or other training session and thought “I shouldn’t have trained today”. It only happens to me when I am really really very sick. The rest of the time I feel wonderful.

Why do some people effortlessly keep fit and healthy? Habits. Are you in the habit of not exercising? In the habit of eating unhealthy? In the habit of negative self-talk?

“Habit, if not resisted, soon becomes necessity.” Saint Augustine

Invest in yourself in your physical body, invest in good habits. You will feel the rewards.

This is not new stuff. But after the festive eating season, it may be good to remember that the body we stuffed full of sugar, spice and all things carbolicious must still keep our souls for a while to come.

The rewards could be a long life, but we know there are no guarantees. The rewards are the now and here. Feeling good now. Have you watched people walking out of a gym? They glow with self-confidence, they feel good about themself, they look and feel energized. And for the most part, it’s after an hour of intense self-inflicted pain and suffering.

They have the rewards, the psychological rewards at first, but eventually, they also get the physical rewards and it carries over to all the areas of their life. In the greater scheme of things you actually do not have to invest that much. But it will cost you something.

“No pain, no gain. Shut up and train.”

To invest in your body is not just physical.

We concentrate so much on our body and it’s physical aspects that we sometimes forget that it’s our thoughts that direct us to live the way we live. To guide us to a gym, a bicycle, a track, a ring, a mat, a whatever were we can train our body’s to stay healthy.

So to invest in your body you must also invest in the thoughts you think, it will direct you.

“Thoughts are real, physical things that occupy mental real estate. Moment by moment, every day, you are changing the structure of your brain through your thinking. When we hope, it is an activity of the mind that changes the structure of our brain in a positive and normal direction.”
― Caroline Leaf, Switch On Your Brain: The Key to Peak Happiness, Thinking, and Health

To stay healthy you must keep your thoughts healthy, it flows from the top as they say.

“The American Institute of Health estimates that 75–90 percent of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related problems.”
― Caroline Leaf, Switch On Your Brain: The Key to Peak Happiness, Thinking, and Health

You can start your investment with these 5 easy steps:

  1. Cultivate a sustainable healthy morning routine.
  2. Eat health-conscious.
  3. Think the right thoughts, do regular thoughtarrests.
  4. Really breathe every breath as far as you can.
  5. Exercise.

MORNING ROUTINE.

The morning routine, well the best way to say it is to quote Tim Ferris.

“If you win the morning you win the day”

HEALTHY DIET

To fill your machine with healthy food is to keep it in good working condition with the added benefits of longevity.

Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments.

Bethenny Frankel

THOUGHT LIFE

Catching bad thoughts before they infiltrate and contaminate your brain is possible with thoughtarrest.

BREATHING

Every part of your body needs oxygen to survive.

You could probably survive without food for up to 40 days, without water for maybe a week max. But try to go without oxygen for a few minutes.

Breathing is important.

Could a few minutes every day doing breathing exercises hurt you?

EXERCISE

We all know exercise is important for your body, soul, and spirit.

So make the biggest investment in your wellness this year and feel the rewards.

  1. Spot on. So much food that is being sold to us is unhealthy, and its too easy to take the easy way out and end up in a descending spiral of more and more medications. I want a natural way to age well. I also would prefer to deal with my fib using a healthy lifestyle than considering an ablation.
